Though VHEMT is a global ideology, India China
I have done my best to reach out to the urban educated youth and have gotten a good response. That is comparatively effortless due to their basic education which provides a smooth chain of logic and reasoning. But what about those who are uneducated and who lack the basic understanding that breeding at this point of time cannot be justified? What about those too backward to understand that irresponsible breeding has caused an irreversible damage to our biosphere? How can we unbrainwash them from the centuries of false teachings of religious leaders with vested interests who preach to breed just to increase their flock?
That is the challenge. Can anyone suggest how to go about educating such masses? Any ideas are welcome.
I just finished reading a book called "a billion bootstraps", it's about micro-credit and the forewords are written by your own countryman muhammad yunus(the 2006 nobel peace prise recipient). It describes the business solution to eliminating poverty. It's the best solution I've ever heard of and I don't see any other way to our salvation.

ReplyDeleteAlso, the Limit Plan is ineffective as long as it remains a Plan... To have any importance it needs to be implemented as an Act... : )
ReplyDeleteOne mass-education solution that comes to my mind is making several good movies with the theme that childfree life is fulfilling and blissful. The plot could show that with the free time one could volunteer to help other people and children and get as much enjoyment as one could get from their own children without the burden and stress.
ReplyDeleteMy personal dream is to make such a movie. The world really needs to see the truth - how we are destroying the world by blindly breeding and taking away the quality of life for everyone.

ReplyDeleteIndian people really respond well to messages from movies. The message in Three Idiots was not new to most of us but the movie put the issues into spotlight.
The only problem I see is that making such a movie could also mean career suicide for the various producers and actors involved. They would lose out on the fans in the family crowd. But I am sure that the urban youth will respond well.
May I suggest that we first work on a theatre play then go on to the movie adaptation. We can thus gauge the response.
I hope that the dream of making such a movie will be fulfilled and please keep me posted on the latest developments.
